I’m Dr. Michelle Barr, spiritual coach, counselor, and former crisis and trauma therapist. If you’ve ever felt like you might be the one standing between where you are and where you’re meant to be, you’re in the right place. This is your safe place to land and your next-level upgrade.
In my last post, we explored the first step of my MOVE process: Make a decision. Today we’re diving into step two: Own it 100%.

Why Halfway Energy Creates Stuckness
Here’s the truth: making a decision is powerful, but it’s only the beginning. Too often, people make a mental decision but stop short of embodying it. They want something, but they don’t commit fully to it. That halfway energy creates stuckness.

I received a great question from a listener: “Can the decision just be a mental one, or do you have to physically make moves toward it for it to occur?”

The answer? Action is what brings you what you desire. Mental decisions are a start, but without aligned, inspired action, you’re only keeping your dreams in your head. Ownership means putting your energy, attention, and actions into it so your decision takes root in the real world.

The Energetic Stance of Commitment
The minute you decide, watch how quickly doubt, hesitation, and second-guessing can creep in. Opportunities show up, but fear and wobbling energy keep you from moving forward.
To own your decision, you must take a stance. In yoga, there’s the mountain pose—feet grounded, chest lifted, arms steady. No matter what winds blow, you stand strong like a palm tree with deep roots, not a beach ball tossed around by the crowd.
That’s what owning it 100% feels like: solid, unwavering, rooted.

Interested vs. Committed
Early in my spiritual entrepreneurship journey, I attended a live event. I watched a woman on stage doing what I longed to do, living the life I wanted to live. She asked a question that hit me hard:
“Are you merely interested, or are you committed?”
That question has stayed with me ever since. Interest says, “I’d like this, but only if it’s convenient.” Commitment says, “I’m in. No matter what.”
When you stand in full commitment, the universe meets you there. It doesn’t play the “if-then” or “when-then” game. It shows up once you do.
Energy First, Action Next
You can force things into being by pounding the hammer to the nail, but that often leads to burnout and imbalance. The real power comes when you learn to work energy upon energy—to impress your energy into the field and bring it forward in form—then take the physical actions that align with it.
This is both a spiritual discipline and a practical strategy. And it makes everything easier.

Your Move
So here’s the challenge: Ask yourself today—am I merely interested, or am I committed?
Your energy must match your decision. That’s what it means to own it 100%. And when you do, you’ll activate momentum that carries you toward your destiny.
